16th Annual Watermelon Festival

July 25, 2022

Is watermelon your favorite fruit? Even if it doesn't take first prize, you can't argue that watermelon is one of the most iconic summer fruits. This August, come celebrate watermelon in the Outer Banks at the 16th Annual Watermelon Festival

This summer, come celebrate with Kitty Hawk Kites and support the Outer Banks Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Coalition at the annual OBX Watermelon Festival on August 4th at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing in Nags Head. There will be fantastic, fun activities to enjoy, including games, food, face painting, tie-dye shirt making, arts and crafts activities, and, of course, tons of watermelon!

If you're competitive, then you'll love the classic watermelon-themed competition such as seed spitting and watermelon eating. There's also a unique watermelon ice cream eating competition. It is so exciting, whether you're participating or watching!
