Here's Why You Should Visit the Outer Banks This Fall

September 12, 2022

Fall is my favorite season! It also happens to be one of the best times of year to travel- and there's no better place to travel to than the Outer Banks! Here's why you should visit the Outer Banks this fall.

Leaf Peeping

The Outer Banks's fall foliage is gorgeous! Immerse yourself in the beauty by taking one of the many local parks. We recommend Nags Head Woods, which features a dense hardwood forest, or Kitty Hawk Woods, which is home to expansive rugged wilderness. Don't feel like exercising? Take a drive and admire the leaves!

Pumpkin Patches

Who doesn't love spending the day picking out perfect pumpkins with your loved ones!? Each Saturday in October, you can visit Manteo's iconic Island Farm Pumpkin Patch. Another great place to visit is Grandy Greenhouse. Make some memories and enjoy some fall treats!

Fall Festivals

There are many fall festivals that take place in and near the Outer Banks! Music lovers will enjoy the Duck Jazz Festival (October 8 - 9) and the Outer Banks Bluegrass Island Festival (October 20 - 22). Foodies will love the Outer Banks Seafood Festival (October 15). For a unique event unlike any you've attended before, check out Blackbeard's Pirate Jamboree (October 28 - 29).

Have a great fall adventure in the Outer Banks! Plan your trip today!
