The 4th of July is right around the corner! Have you made plans to celebrate yet? You'll find plenty of fun, festive activities to enjoy this Independence Day in the Outer Banks! Here are some suggestions to help you plan out your holiday.

Town of Nags Head Fireworks Spectacular: Fireworks will be launched from the ocean pier at milepost 11.5 on S. Virginia Dare Trail, right in the heart of Nags Head. The show will be visible all along the coast.

Independence Day at Island Farm: Celebrate Independence Day 1850’s style at Island Farm! Bring a picnic lunch to eat on the lawn while you celebrate the holiday with musket-fire, traditional games, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Town of Kill Devil Hills Fireworks Show: Kill Devil Hills will launch their fireworks from the Avalon Pier at milepost 7. Bring a chair, blanket, or beach towel and find a spot to watch the show on one of the surrounding beaches.

Freedom 5K: Looking to plan an active 4th of July celebration? Register for the Freedom 5K, presented by SUN Realty. The races (which include the Freedom 5K/1 Mile and the Little Sparkler 1/4 Mile Fun Run) start and end at Kill Devil Hills Town Hall in front of the Town War Memorial.

Town of Manteo 4th of July Celebration: Downtown Manteo will come alive this Fourth of July. Enjoy kids' games, a decorated bike contest, a parade (of bikes, trikes, scooters, and wagons), an apple pie contest, a watermelon eating contest, food, summer treats, live music, and more at this family-friendly festival.

Avon Fishing Pier 4th of July Fireworks Show: Come celebrate the 4th with the Avon community! There will be special events and radio programs all day. Attendees will get an incredible front row view of the fireworks display from the pristine Cape Hatteras National Seashore beaches.

Town of Duck 4th of July Celebration Parade: This Independence Day, Duck will host a wonderful community celebration with a one mile long parade, live music, and cold refreshments. Green Acres Farm Market will provide watermelon!
