If you've visited Ocracoke before, then you may have noticed how much the town loves figs. There are figs and fig-filled treats everywhere, including fig trees all throughout the village! During the Ocracoke Fig Festival, the town's love for figs shines especially bright. Visitors and locals alike come together during this wonderful weekend to celebrate the fig through a range of activities. There will be music, dancing, history, activities, and lots of yummy fig goodies!

The Ocracoke Preservation Museum and Community Square will host events. On the first night, you can participate in a Traditional Ocracoke Square Dance with caller Philip Howard and music by Molasses Creek. The second day is all about food! There will be a Fig Cake Bake-Off, plenty of fig cake samples, a “fig marketplace," and lots of family-oriented activities. Keep an eye out for historical programs throughout the weekend!
