So what the heck is Brewtag anyways? OBX Brewtag is modeled after the German "Red Bull Flutag" (flying day). At this exciting event, Brewtag competitors will see who can launch and fly an empty 1/6 keg barrel the furthest. It is a whimsical, unique event that the whole family will enjoy watching. It combines flight and beer. What isn't to love?!
Teams come from all over the east coast to compete in this competition. They assemble homemade flying contraptions with the hopes of flying their 1/6 keg barrel the farthest. The creativity is astonishing! You never know what kind of crazy contraptions the teams will put together.

Brewtag will also feature live music by, local craft beer, and yummy food vendors. This event is family-friendly, so there will also be lots for kids to enjoy. The youngsters will love the games and crafts in the kid zone!
Admission is free, but proceeds from purchases will support the Rogallo Foundation in creating a museum in honor of Francis and Gertrude Rogallo, the inventors of the flexible wing. The museum will have "educational opportunities utilizing tangible objects for programs and exhibits to preserve and interpret the Rogallos’ story behind the invention and evolution of the flexible wing" and "will feature all of Rogallo’s innovative work, designs, history, and advancements since its development."
Don't miss Brewtag on October 28, 2023!
