St. Patrick's Day 2025 in the Outer Banks

March 5, 2025

St. Patrick's Day and parties go hand-in-hand. What is St. Patrick's Day without a celebration full of bright green clothes, fun music, parades, and Irish food?! If you're looking for the perfect place to enjoy all of these things and more without worrying about crazy crowds and raucous revelry, then you should plan to spend the holiday in the Outer Banks!

The Outer Banks are a wonderful place to spend St. Patrick's Day if you're looking for a fun, festive, and family-friendly destination. Rather than dealing with the chaos of a big city celebration, you can enjoy a relaxed holiday on the beautiful coast of North Carolina.

Many Outer Banks restaurants and pubs will offer special St. Patrick's Day menus, featuring local seafood creations as well as traditional Irish favorites. If you enjoy craft beer, then you should look out for limited-edition drinks from local breweries, perhaps with a hint of green.

There are plenty of St. Patrick's Day events that you can enjoy as well. Some favorites include...

34th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade (March 16, 2025 in Nags Head): a one-mile parade with a route running from Bladen St. north to Driftwood St. on Virginia Dare Trail (Beach Rd.).

Running of the Leprechauns (March 15, 2025 in Nags Head): themed 5K and 10K races featuring plenty of costumes.

St Patrick's Day Beer Mile (March 15, 2025 in Kill Devil Hills): a Leprechaun themed beer mile where participants aged 21 and up can "drink, run, drink, run, drink, run, drink, run, party."
