Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by these extraordinary individuals, who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedom and upholding our nation's values. In the Outer Banks, you'll find a variety of programs, services, and activities that give you the chance to honor our veterans!
There are countless ways to honor veterans, both on Veterans Day and throughout the year. We can express our gratitude by simply saying "thank you" for their service. We can learn about their experiences and sacrifices by listening to their stories. We can support organizations that provide essential services to veterans, such as job training, healthcare, and counseling.

View the Wall That Heals Exhibit: The Wall That Heals is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. that was designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. The exhibit honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam. It will be on display in Nags Head from November 16-19, 2023.
Attend a Veterans Day Ceremony: The Town of Nags Head is hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony for the community on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The speaker will be retired U.S. Army Colonel Timothy Healy. Music will be provided by local students.
Listen to Music: The Annual Outer Banks Veterans Concert will feature country music duo War Hippies. It will take place at the Outer Banks Brewing Station on Friday, Nov. 10. Tickets are $15 for general admission/non-military and $10 with Military or Veteran ID.
