If you're going to be in the Outer Banks this weekend, then I have a very special event for you to check out. On Saturday, October 30, you can enjoy the annual Wooden Boat Show at Roanoke Island Maritime Museum!

This annual event takes place on the last Saturday of each October. It is open to all wooden boats, whether they're newly constructed or restored. These boats are stunning. They're lovingly cared for and beautiful to look at! Come out and enjoy a day on the waterfront, gazing at the wonderful wooden boats in the water and on the grounds.
This special event honors the region's deep ties to maritime history and culture. Some of the boats on display are history, having been preserved across many generations of boat lovers. The presence of the wooden boats displayed throughout the area will add to the charm of downtown Manteo. As an added bonus, this event supports the local youth sailing program!

The boats taking part in the show will be on display in George Washington Creef Park and in the water around the docks at Roanoke Marshes lighthouse. The boats will be judged based on owner-built/restored or professionally built/restored craftsmanship, and awards will be presented at a dinner Saturday evening.
Come see why the wooden boat show has become such a beloved local event!
